Welcome to the Office of Student Leadership and Engaged Learning!
At the Office of Student Leadership and Engaged Learning, we are dedicated to empowering students to become leaders both on campus and in their communities. We strive to foster a dynamic environment where leadership, civic engagement, and service come together to create impactful experiences that promote personal growth and social responsibility.
OSLEL partners with students to foster experiential learning, community building, and personal growth, creating transformative service and leadership experiences. OSLEL empowers students to be active learners, leaders, and community members.
At VCU, we are committed to guiding VCU’s efforts to increase civic learning and democratic engagement during the academic semesters. VCU’s leadership and commitment to civic learning and democratic engagement can be seen through several initiatives including: VCU Votes and Alternative Breaks.
At VCU, community engagement is a vital aspect of the university's responsibility as an anchor institution in the community. As exemplified by the Thriving Communities theme in Quest 2028, VCU recognizes that true community engagement is a collaborative process where both the university and community partners co-create solutions to pressing societal issues.
